At Homebrew Adventures, we listen to our customers' comments and suggestions for improvement. Over the years, many of you have sent us excellent ideas on ways we can improve your online shopping experience. And for the last six months, we have been quietly developing a completely new shopping system that incorporates these ideas - and we've added a few other features of our own.

The new shopping system was released into production on Tues, Oct. 9, 2001. It incorporates many new features that are designed to make shopping easier and more informative for our customers. Some of the features you'll find in the new system include:

  • Support for larger product images: No longer limited to just thumbnail icons, we have updated many of our product images with larger and more informative photos. Not all of the images are updated yet, but we will continue to add more product images over time, and we think you will be impressed with the ones we've already added.

  • Support for more detailed product descriptions: The expanded product detail pages allows us to be more creative and informative in our product descriptions. Now that the development stage of the new system is complete, we will be able to focus our attention on upgrading all of our product descriptions.

  • Less typing: You now have the option to create an account with us to have your billing and shipping address details securely saved. The next time you shop with us, simply log in with your account name and password, and your address details are retreived, saving you lots of repetitive typing. However, if you have privacy concerns, you can always choose to not have us save this information. It's your choice!

  • Better navigation: The collapsing category tree on the left is the main navigation tool for the new system. However, we have added a search tool to the header that always stays on screen, category headers at the top of every page so you know where you are, subcategory menus, and internal links within category descriptions. With multiple navigation tools available, products are easier to locate.

  • Perpetual Basket Summary: Giving you immediate feedback when you add an item to your basket. And you always know the item count and your running sub-total.

  • Gift Certificates: Just in time for the holiday season, you can now purchase gift certificates online.

  • And much more - including many back-office improvements that aren't obvious to customers, such as processing efficiencies that will allow us to ship your orders faster, and easier database maintenance so we can keep our product images and descriptions up to date.
Coming soon.... Never one to rest on our laurels, we will continue to add new features. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks, when we plan to add a Gift Registry so you can easily tell your family and friends exactly what you want for the holidays!

Here are some other favorites:

Sedylmayr Munich Dunkel: Named after the creator of this style, Gabriel Sedylmayr. It has a nutty, toasted, chocolate like malty sweetness in aroma and flavor, a medium body and dark brown color.

High Sierra Porter: Patterned after Sierra Nevada's line. Has a sharp bitter bite provided by a combination of black malts and Nugget hops. Full bodied with a touch of Willamette in the nose.

Colner Hofbrau Kolsch:: Example of pale altbier from Cologne. Light to medium body, very low hop aroma and flavor, medium bitterness. Makes ideal beer for the warmer months. A Kolsch benefits from ale temperature primary fermentation and lager temperature secondary fermentation.

Catherine the Great Imperial Stout:: Dark black example of a beer originally made specifically for export. Essentially a black barley wine it has high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. The high hop flavor and aroma, though unusual for the stout style, are required for an Imperial stout.

Franconia Rauchbier:: Deep amber color, rich malty sweetness and medium smoke intensity. Like other beers in Oktoberfest/ Marzen family, low to medium hop bitterness, low hop flavor and aroma which allows its delicious smoky character to shine through.

St. Nick's Holiday Ale:: St. Nick's Holiday Ale is a delightfully spiced ale with accents of cinnamon and vanilla. Mildy hopped with nice honey flavors balanced by the nutmeg and clove. This Amber colored malty ale will really warm up your winter nights. Brew early to make the Holidays! (Starting Gravity 1.070- 1.075) (Finishing Gravity 1.011 - 1.016) (Approximate Alcohol Content: 7.0-7.5%) (25 IBU)
